Jace and Mommy
Greg and I went out for a late dinner one night with some friends so one of our basketball players stayed with Jace while he was sleeping.  I didn't think he would wake up since we were only gone about 2 hours, but I came home to this...  these 2 snuggling on the couch together watching the NBA playoffs.  How funny!
Jace is beginning to enjoy his foods.  He really likes squash and sweet potatoes.  To my surprise, he's not wild about fruits yet.
All cleaned up!  To help establish some sort of a routine, we started bathing Jace, reading books, and nursing each night before bedtime.  It is really helping him sleep better AND it is a special time for us too.
He just started standing up and now it is all he wants to do!  I went in his room to find him standing up in his crib... I couldn't believe it!  You can tell he is very proud of his new accomplishment.  Now I can hardly get him to lay down in his crib.

He is quite the pro now.  However, he doesn't always have the best judgment.  He has taken a few spills lately on the not-so-stable things like mommy's leg or a drawer that swung open... poor baby.
He is also in a full out crawl now.  I just can't believe all the changes occurring in him!  Not only is he growing physically but his personality is growing too!  Watch out friends, this child has a BIG personality.

Here is Jace chasing after his favorite toy... a bottle of lotion. Who knew?!

Tonagel steps up to the plate

Don't have much to report, I just thought I would post these pictures of Jace in the baseball hat we got him this weekend. When did he become a little boy and no longer a baby? Sniff Sniff...

Here is Mr. Straight Face in his Johnny Jumper. He loves any chance to be up on his feet!

P.S. Is this the longest winter in history? C'mon spring, we're ready for you!

Broadway Star?

Just wanted to give you a quick update on our boy's stats. We paid a visit to the doc yesterday and he checked out great. He weighs 21 ibs. 6.4 oz. and is about 27 inches long. He is still in the 95th percentile for his weight but only about the 55th for his height (Sorry to all you Tonagels who had such high hopes of him being a 7 foot center, a point guard it is, or if he wants the star in the school musical. Or maybe he will take after me and be in show choir ) We will just have to see... he can do whatever his little heart desires, well, according to me. Dad might not give him an option...

He is doing SO much better now that we are staying home more often and getting ourselves into a routine. He is taking 2 good naps each day and only woke up once last night. Did you hear that... only once!

Life is good.

Nothing makes my heart go pitter patter more than the sight of these two together...

Click here if you want to see Jace crawl, well sorta.

Farm Baby

Here are a few pictures of our past week. Jace has continued to try new foods--rice cereal, bananas, squash, sweet potatoes, and apple sauce. He isn't wild about any of them, but he is becoming more interested in eating solids (especially what I'm eating).

We love bath time.  I have started giving him a quick bath each night before bedtime to help establish a routine since we were so mixed up after basketball season.  It is so nice that he is able to sit up all by himself.  It makes bath time more enjoyable for both of us!
Greg is always trying to wrestle with Jace.  I think he is actually getting to the age where he likes it... oh boy.
I think he got a hold of my last post, because he has been sleeping much better than the prior week. He is still waking up 2-3 times, but it's a big improvement.
He is getting so close to crawling.  He does the army crawl and when he wants something, he manages to get it (even if it's across the room).  His top, front tooth has poked through and the other one is on it's way.  So many changes are occurring in him so quickly.  It's hard to keep up!
Here is Jace on his very first tractor ride with his Papa. It was a cold spring day but they had a really good time anyway! This should be the first of many tractor rides for Jace.

My sister-in-law Amanda had a little impromptu photo shoot with Jace in the Tonagel kitchen over the weekend.  She got some really cute pics of Jace on her camera and you can view them by clicking here.  Not only do I NOT have an eye for taking photographs but my camera takes less than average picures, so Amanda who DOES have a real skill for taking pics also has a really good camera.  Anyway, they turned out really cute so check 'em out!
