We just returned back from our wonderful trip to Rhode Island. We had a blast! It was a pretty relaxing, low-key, and much needed week for us! My brother Ben was able to meet Jace for the first time, my sister Jill came up from NY for the weekend, Grandpa was able to spoil him with love, and Grandma spent 2 straight weeks with us! In just 5 months Jace has traveled to southern California and all the way across to New England. My mom spent a week in Marion with us and lent me an extra set of hands for our travels out to Newport. We traveled home just the two of us and it went extremely smooth! I was so thankful! I kept playing over in my mind all the things that could have gone wrong but nothing did! As for Newport, the weather was pretty cold so we kept Jace indoors for the most part. I was there for an entire week and I hardly saw the ocean--shame on me! Mostly we just visited, played cards, watched basketball, ate at the Quahog Company, laughed, slept in while Grandma played with Jace, listened to Wildcat basketball on the internet, enjoyed the most fabulous shrimp and scallop scampi EVER, oohed and aahed over Jace, and savored the moments we had with our family! It was a very special week with people who are very special to me!
Here is Grandpa admiring his grandson. Jace has started to love playing with his toys.
Wouldn't you just love to snuggle with him in this outfit?
Jace happy in Grandma's arms.
Our homecoming was pretty special too. We hadn't seen Greg in seven days!! I was so surprised at how happy Jace was to see him--he knew exactly who he was! We visited with Greg for about a 1/2 hour before he had to head back into work. We were playing St. Francis that evening. Please God, help us to win our ball game so we can have a good night in the Tonagel household. Thank you Lord for hearing our prayer! We did win our ball game so Dad was in a good mood when we finally returned home. We were extremely pooped from our long day and just happy to be together again!
We paid a visit to the doc yesterday and Jace checked out perfectly! He weighs 19 1/2 pounds which is still the 95th percentile and is 26 1/2 inches long which is in the 75th percentile (Dad was not too happy about this). The doc also said there was no reason to start Jace on food yet and that it wouldn't add any nutritional value to his diet. I guess he will get to be a baby for a little while longer--yay!
He had 2 shots yesterday--as you can see, he recovered pretty fast.
Isn't he growing up fast? :(
