The countdown is on! I am now 27 weeks pregnant and time is flying by! I am trying to really enjoy these last months before we become parents--yikes! Sometimes I feel overwhelmed because there is still so much to do before Baby Tonagel's arrival in September. We still need to sell our current car, purchase a new vehicle, put the finishing touches on our remodeled bathroom, get the nursery ready, finish painting the outside of our house, and learn all there is to know about parenting--yeah right! Greg has been working really hard juggling basketball camps and house projects, as I sit back and hand him the tape measure when he needs it(very exhausting)! We are currently exploring the option of attending a birthing center for the birth of our baby instead of the hospital. This birthing center offers everything we desire for my labor and delivery. We are waiting to hear about our insurance before we make any final decisions.
How our baby's growing
This week, our baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, our baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. The network of nerves in our baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. She may now be able to hear both my voice and Greg's voice as we chat with each other.
I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Jeremiah 1:5
