Baby Rutabaga

Everything is going well with the pregnancy! I continue to feel healthy and happy! Each day, I feel more and more movement...this baby is active! Greg has enjoyed being able to finally feel activity. Whenever he feels movement he comments, "I wonder what he's doing". Greg, along with his dad and brother, have been working hard to remodel our bathroom. We have completely gutted everything(and I mean everything) in the bathroom. It should create a wonderful place for our sweet baby to bath. We often wonder what we talked and thought about before we got pregnant--we are just so excited for this baby's arrival. The nursery will be our next project, much simpler than a bathroom--I hope! Recently, we enjoyed a short visit in Marion with my sister Jill. We went to Babies 'R Us and registered for the things I will eventually need. We had a blast, although, it was very exhausting(so many choices)! Greg and I have finally found 2 names we love and can agree on! I have a follow-up visit with the doc tomorrow, so I will update soon.

How Our Baby's Growing

Head to heels, our baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

I'll take some turkey and stuffing with my rutabaga, please!

Girls Night

On Tuesday, I hosted a girls night at my home. We had a blast doing strictly girly things. It was refreshing being around a group of girls, when usually I am surrounded by 14 basketball guys who tower over me!
Greg has been staying busy with recruiting, teaching, and planning for camps this summer. We finally scheduled a date to renovate our bathroom--I am so excited! The nursery is still a work in progress, but we will post pictures when it is completed. We have a busy summer ahead for us with home renovations to my sister's wedding in August. Baby Mango will be here before we know it!

Mango Baby

Can you believe the size of my belly? I am growing everyday! The baby is now the size of a large mango(yum...mango!) We enjoyed celebrating Mother's Day this year and reflecting on how special our mom's are. I just feel so blessed that I get to become someone's mother in just 4 short months!

Baby Mound--22 weeks!

I'm getting requests for more frequent pictures of my growing belly. Being pregnant has been fun, however, I do look forward to fitting into my normal clothes again!
As for Greg and I, we have really enjoyed coming up with a birthing plan that is right for us. I am just thankful that this is a 9 month process--there is still so much to do!

What's Up Doc?

We had our second and hopefully last ultrasound this past week. The doctor said if everything remains normal we won't have a need to have any more ultrasounds. It was so fun for us to see an actual physical glimpse of our baby! We tried to get the ultrasound tech to give us every clue about the baby's sex without actually telling us the sex. I think she had fun teasing Greg, as he made it very clear to her that he hopes the baby is a boy. She said she definitely knew if the baby was a boy or a girl. Everything looked good and healthy. She commented on how active our baby was. At one point, the baby opened up his mouth and stuck his tongue out--it was so adorable! The baby weighed in at 15 ounces on Thursday(a little bigger than normal) and is about 11 inches long. He is about the length of a carrot. I have been feeling more movement each day. I can now distinguish the baby moving from normal stomach activity. My belly no longer resembles a bump, but more like a mound now! As time passes, we continue to grow excited of our new arrival in September.
